My mama said not to call you stupid Cause you're too stupid to even see And my buddy said the dodo bird it went extinct So I'm wondering why you're here with me They say not to give you time for tomorrow Cause you wouldn't do the same for me And when you're down on your luck Think of my old face And how I wish you the worst to be You think I'd lend a hand? After everything Looks now your time is up Since I didn't mean a thing You've shown your colors true Gone on and made me blue round my boys But you're too stupid to see And so it goes you can't fix dumb Yeah you're too stupid to see And so it goes you can't fix dumb

Well no its not the first time where I'm letting you down again A loosening grip is all I give as I'm knee deep in sin I'm acting like the first time how to learn to take and give If ever tried I lied my way this far to you my friend I've turned to darker shades of black just inking from my pen But even now a coward's scowl is worn above my chin I disappoint so freely like its given to the wind Don't hold the door open for me once you're already in All my deeds waiver My word means later So I'll let Let you down again Only a matter of time when you will decide to quit I'm slower than the hour hand I watch and wait and sit Now coming from your point of view I tend to throw a fit When I'm confronted of the wrongs I do but don't regret I hope to one day turn the tide and dry the things I've wet But as of now I slip a frown because I can't forget All my deeds waiver My word means later So I'll let Let you down Yes I let Let you down again Now if I know my habits they're old enough to flip But change like me for anyone its hard to make it stick You're slick to all the same old crap I do to make you sick I prick the trust you have in me and granted I neglect Many a time you call me and I won't answer the door In my next life if I'm a fly I guess I'll know what for Hi all my deeds waiver My word means later So I'll let Let you down Yes I let Let you down again

Let me tell you bout a town with so many The traffic too much The people are plenty and I've had enough The parkings not any thing to compare Some come with big wishes Some come unprepared On the west side of town the rent isn't cheap The east ain't much better Good luck counting sheep They hustle their ass off to just make ends meet And lose count of those who call home in the street Some were born here with nothin Some migrated by train Now I'm sure that for one thing Soon they'll run out of space And they'll get off at 5 just to be home by 7 Sometimes right at 8 9 10 or 11 On a bright sunny day you could look for the mountains But the air is so hazy Its something they've forgotten Theres a Prius next door thats suppose to help somethin The more folks that stay the more folks you see frontin Now don't get me wrong Theres a lot more untouched You know where you are with the mass of grub trucks And now you can get a grilled cheese for 10.50 No side or drink either Since they closed down the Thrifties Were you born here with nothin? Did you migrate by plane? Now I'm sure that for one thing I for one need a change And do you get off at 5 just to be home by 7? For the City of Angels don't feel much like heaven No the City of Angels don't feel much like heaven

Another One 02:35
I took a walk along the moon where main street sat Acquainted once again where I left my heart at But I dread to shed the news to you A sudden change of weather had my nose on the run I intended to repeat the things we had done But I dread to shed the news to you There was nothing that I could do She's thinking of another one I took a gawk too long or maybe I stood slant I heard she had another dude to call her man But I dread to think the news as true I kid around the town house hoping she would laugh A stroll around the park enough to hold her hand Still I dread to think the news as true That our time took off and on it flew She's thinking of another one I will admit the talk of him from her I'd hate But how could I act on a whim my current state Had me eating jealousy from a spoon Back in the past I had my chance to stay around I blew it off like everything else I've torn down Like the violent winds of a monsoon We won't be anything much else soon She's thinking of another one I took a walk along the moon where main street sat Acquainted once again where I left my heart at But I dread to shed the news to you A sudden change of weather had my nose on the run I intended to repeat the things we had done But I dread to shed the news to you There was nothing that I could do She's thinking of another Nothing that I could do She's thinking of another Nothing that I could do She's thinking of another one

Sweet as apple pie Sweet as sugared up soda drinks Whiskey over ice and it can't beat me Sneakin' up a rise I'll be talkin up a roller rink And walkin into someone right now Suppose the day is done gone and over like you wanted You went about the hours ending gradually And callin not from far away Encroaching on your sobriety From the shade in the corner how it taunted Just the fool that is you I mean me Like taking candy from a baby Has someone laid the rules for consistency? Because I know its not me I've been here itchin you see Sweet as apple pie Sweet as sugared up soda drinks Whiskey over ice no it can't beat me Sneakin up a rise I'll be talkin up a roller rink And walkin into someone right now I've shown the night the urge of whats knotted in my stomach I reckon I can handle just enough about three But since I fail in keepin moderation Roll me up in a rug so to moderate me I rose from the way I use to swat em Use to line em up and knock em down clean Use to sip away and stumble With no one in my way I go as I plead I envy those with the need Those who control it with heed Cause its sweet as apple pie Sweet as sugared up soda drinks Whiskey over ice no it can't beat me Sneakin up a rise I'll be talking up a roller rink And walkin into someone right now Such a freedom you can take in much advantage Test the waters just to see how deep Better swim before you're sinkin Its got me really thinkin of a life I wanna keep And I know now what I just need Here comes the itchin to feed Sweet as apple pie Sweet as sugared up soda drinks Nothing to entice cause it can beat me Think it over twice even if you're feeling stubborn And insisting that you're gonna be fine

On The Road 02:56
Atop two thousand miles adding up two thousand more A rookie I'm still getting in my share Some folks can go so far away and still see the same stars Yet I just get them circling my head There ain't no trouble steppin up and footin out that door Quite frankly I'm just use to sleeping in my bed But sleeping with an open spot a gal I could adore Is not around so I might as well a get drivin On the road How could you know what you'd be a gettin into? On the road Where your mama ain't around On the road I'm familiar with my home But on the road thats where I wanna be Highway fines and doubles lines and roads that never end I'm with the band and my backs a constant bend My turn behind the wheel is just a few hours gone in The lanes a stretch and my eyeballs are in spin Theres weird theres tall short and all Theres even loose woman Scabbed faced druggies and a pit bull eating chicken Mountains high rivers flow rain comes down and then Next thing you know the van we droves leakin On the road How could you know what you'd be a gettin into? On the road Where your mama ain't around On the road I'm familiar with my home But on the road thats where I wanna be Atop two thousand miles adding up two thousand more Quite frankly I'm just use to sleeping in my bed But sleeping with an open spot a gal I could adore Is not around so I might as well a get drivin On the road How could you know what you'd be a gettin into? On the road Where your mama ain't around On the road I'm familiar with my home But on the road thats where I wanna be Yeah on the road thats where I wanna be

Came upon a letter from an old love you’ve hidden Now you can remember why the good times didn’t last Taking into measure why you first thought of quitting But you’re thinking what if they’re not like their past Don’t forget another in the present quite smitten If you got it so good whats a note gonna change? Soaking up the sun as you read on you’re itching Just to see what happens if you put out your hand No such thing as what if If you know yourself well If given just one chance Don’t ask and don’t tell Its a little funny when temptation comes calling Pulling at your one sleeve till you answer its call Whats a little funny more funny than one thing When the tables have turned you’re the one feeling soft No such thing as what if If you know yourself well Its happened before Like you’re under some spell No such thing as what if You’ve nothing to sell You’re given just one chance Don’t ask and don’t tell Duh duh duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb Duh duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb dumb dumb dumb Came upon a letter from an old love good riddance Nothing to remember were there good times ever had? Taking in if whether saving letters made a difference But you’re thinking now this is just something of the past No such thing as what if If you know yourself well If given just one chance Don’t ask and don’t tell Duh duh duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb Duh duh duh dumb dumb Duh duh dumb dumb dumb dumb

I sure done it good this time Cause I didn’t get my way Oh my sweet love so tender She says bye now go away And don’t I do this everytime Build us up by what I say Then my heart pulses faster What an art this disaster You deny me I’m plastered With a rage Sent to me from up above Cause theres no way else in hell But my trying makes no difference All the same we go again But thats not me I’m saying I am Not the slightest playin around Then I’m washed up with liquor And the feels I get flicker Down and out I’m so sorry Step aside I will by now its overdue Could I blame you for wanting us to be through Stakes were high enough to see what I could lose But I just can't let things be Once again I’ve no respect I drink and think and wonder why There’s an end to our story You realize he’s not for me Put aside too much don’t we? I’ve done it good This time I’ve done it good

All I wanna say before you turn me away It seems we've come a long way For something we're both not about Its been a long time comin and I'm happy to say You were never worth the fuss I found out But I do so often ponder what was making us stay Were we parading a play? Faking the hand we were dealt Just because we've known too long each other per se I guess too far we carried feelings we felt But now they're gone Come pick your stuff up tonight At my convenience we ain't doing it your way Cause I think you're wrong And now its time to decide And I've decided I ain't playin in your game Is it any wonder we can do no more? I walk with two not four Good thing we quit trying to run And time will strip away the chance you took just for fun I guess too far we carried feelings I felt But now they're gone And I'm feeling anxious tonight I'm thinkin maybe I should give her a call For her I long But I know the answer is right Apart we're better off not knowing at all

Open your eyes I do think you’ve been crying Were you dreaming again of the times that have passed Don’t you deny that you’re one of a kind All those in favor you won’t have to ask And may I assume that you’re in a small room And the walls that are four will be crumbling soon Do you remember you once said to me Family’s but loyal when things come between I said dear momma I know you have slacked Thats why you warned me to just watch my back And don’t ever lose what does make you a man Cause you can shake loose from the one’s who have ran Well here we are and I’ll say to you now One day when we part I’ll say I know how To be true and just not shameful and rue And the wrong doing of people is gone done and through And if I may say with no conscience in mind I pray for the day I can see em off dying

about

Special thanks to Tim Adams, Nick Lupton, Erik Miron, Nicole Kiki Jaffe, Jessica Alvillar and Wicklow Atwater. Recorded in Los Angeles, CA. This album is unofficially dedicated to my late grandfather who let me take up a room in his house to jam in as a teenager and make a bunch of racket to get "good."
